About Paul Martin
Paul is the 'UK's #1 hospitality trainer & motivational speaker'* with a career stretching back over 30 years. In his early twenties he won 7 global mixology titles, set 2 Guinness world mixology records and opened the award-winning cocktail bar, Kudos in South West London.
After selling Kudos in 1994, Paul went on to pioneer the role of the cocktail consultant, establishing himself as one of the very first cocktail advisors to the UK spirits industry, during which period he also began to create and deliver some of the most impactful industry training courses available. Over the following two decades, Paul developed a truly unique approach to training & speaking which now sets him apart as the most in-demand 'voice of change' on the UK hospitality scene. Much of Paul's fascination with the idea of service through communication comes from another of his loves, British Sign Language. He is qualified in BSL to level 3 and has taught the subject at introductory level also. This unique perspective on non-verbal communication informs his refreshing approach and features as a key influence in many of his courses and keynote talks. In fact, the combination of hospitality expertise and communication skill training has resulted in Paul being sought by businesses outside of the hospitality industry too. As such he has delivered keynote talks for clients as diverse as BSkyB, Volkswagen, Sainsburys, Red Bull and BBC among many others.
Paul's style is energised, passionate and funny and as such, he has earned a reputation for entertaining as well as educating. Last year he was delighted to be invited to speak at the TEDxChelmsford event. His TEDx Talk has now received over 500,000 YouTube views.
