About Mixxa.
We Don't Deliver Training. We Create Transformation.
Most hospitality businesses have performance challenges rather than training problems.
They have talented people who aren't quite achieving their potential or delivering the level of service they are capable of. They have teams who appear to understand the standards in theory but struggle to bring them to life in reality. And they have managers who know what 'great' looks like but struggle to inspire it consistently across their teams. Sound familiar?
That's where Mixxa is different.
Founded by hospitality transformation specialist Paul Martin, Mixxa exists to help hospitality businesses unlock the full potential of their people. Through a unique blend of hospitality expertise, behavioural psychology, communication skills and leadership development, we help organisations create cultures that deliver exceptional guest experiences, stronger commercial performance and lasting competitive advantage.
For more than three decades, we have partnered with luxury hotels, private members' clubs, restaurants, resorts, cruise companies and hospitality brands to transform service cultures from reactive and transactional to proactive, engaging and unforgettable.
Because at Mixxa we are committed to the idea that truly memorable guest experiences don't happen by accident. They are the result of people who are empowered, equipped and inspired to create them.

Why Paul Martin makes a difference.
There are many hospitality trainers but far fewer hospitality transformation specialists.
-
Where traditional training focuses primarily on transferring knowledge, Paul focuses on redefining role perceptions, establishing proactive behaviours, developing attitudes and creating a world-class mentality framework where skill development can flourish.
-
Where traditional training programmes teach people what to do, Paul helps people understand why they do what they do and how to consistently challenge and elevate it, so that experiences evolve alongside expectations.
-
Where traditional training creates short-term enthusiasm. Paul's programmes are specifically designed to create lasting cultural change.
This distinction has made Paul one of the most sought-after voices in hospitality development today, trusted by leading brands to inspire meaningful improvements in service, leadership, communication and performance.
Paul's approach is built on a simple belief:
When you change the way people think, you change the way they perform. And when you change the way they perform, you change the guest experience.
An idea that I'd like to challenge...
Too many hospitality businesses try to standardise exceptional service.
The irony is, by it's very nature exceptional service isn't standard.
It's spontaneous, creative, opportunistic and personal.
This is interesting...
Most guests don't really remember the room, the food, the facilities.
They remember how you made them feel.
But only if that feeling truly stands out from how they feel elsewhere.
The Mixxa Philosophy.
At Mixxa, we believe that world-class hospitality is not created through scripts, processes or checklists alone.
It is created through:
-
Confidence.
-
Curiosity.
-
Emotional intelligence.
-
Communication.
-
Situational awareness.
And the ability to recognise and act upon opportunities in the moment.
Our programmes help teams move beyond simply responding to guest requests and instead become active participants in shaping exceptional experiences. The result is a more engaged team, more loyal guests, stronger reviews, increased revenue opportunities and a service culture that continually evolves rather than standing still.
About Paul Martin.
Exceptional hospitality doesn't happen by accident.
It's created by people who think differently, behave differently and see opportunities that others simply don't notice.
That belief has shaped Paul Martin's career for more than 35 years.
Beginning as a bartender, Paul went on to win seven global mixology championships, establish two Guinness World Records and open the award-winning cocktail bar Kudos in South West London. After selling the business, he became one of the UK's pioneering cocktail consultants, working with leading international drinks brands while beginning to question traditional approaches to hospitality development.
Over the decades that followed, that questioning evolved into a distinctive philosophy. Rather than focusing solely on knowledge and skills, Paul developed an approach centred on behavioural transformation—combining hospitality expertise, communication psychology, leadership and human behaviour to help businesses create exceptional guest experiences that deliver measurable commercial results.
Today, his work has influenced thousands of hospitality professionals and hundreds of hospitality businesses around the world, from luxury hotels and private members' clubs to international brands seeking to transform culture, leadership and guest experience.
Alongside his consultancy work, Paul is the author of six hospitality books, including Ultimate Bartending, and has delivered keynote presentations for organisations including BSkyB, Volkswagen, Sainsbury's, Red Bull and the BBC.
A qualified British Sign Language practitioner with a lifelong fascination for communication, trust and human connection, Paul brings a perspective that extends well beyond hospitality. His engaging, thought-provoking style has made him one of the industry's most sought-after speakers, culminating in an invitation to present at TEDx Chelmsford, where his talk has since been viewed more than 500,000 times.
Today, Paul continues to challenge conventional thinking about hospitality, helping ambitious organisations create cultures, leaders and guest experiences that people remember long after the interaction has ended.
